Iredell 24-Hour Release Source
The Iredell County Sheriff does not publish a distinct rolling 24-hour release list. The official P2C Inmate Inquiry is a current-custody list. Its public navigation offers Home, Event Search, Daily Bulletin, and Inmate Inquiry, but it has no recent-release choice. The Daily Bulletin concerns reported events. It is not a list of people released today. Research also found no official update schedule, photo rule, list fields, or online retention period for an Iredell County same-day release feed.
This absence matters. A name that no longer appears on P2C may reflect bond, a court order, time served, or sentence completion. It may also reflect transfer to another jail, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, a secure placement, or federal custody. The question is not just whether the booking vanished. The goal is an affirmative event that states when county custody ended and, when public, how it ended.
Check Iredell Same-Day Releases
Start with a defined time span. “Today” can change while the search is in progress, and a rolling day differs from a calendar day. Write down both endpoints and the time zone. Then follow the sources in order. The county list supplies current context, while later sources can confirm a change. Keep the full booked name, arrest date, charge, booking agency, and booking number together so two people with the same name are not confused.
- Search current P2C by last name, then narrow the match with the first or middle name, charge, arrest date, and booking agency.
- Open a matched detail while it remains reachable. Record the booking number and read the Release Date field only if a value is shown.
- Check NC SAVAN/VINELink for the same person. Note the agency, exact custody label, and update time.
- Review the Iredell case in eCourts Portal. Match the case number and look for a disposition, judgment, bond event, or public order.
- Ask the jail or Records Section for the release or transfer event within the exact one-day period. State that a transfer must be identified separately from release to the community.
- If the event was a transfer, follow the named receiving system. Use DAC for state custody and the correct federal source when federal pickup is documented.

It asks for all existing release events in a short range, which may require the Sheriff to locate records rather than a person-by-person web search.
Iredell 24-Hour Release Fields
Because no public Iredell County 24-hour feed exists, these are fields to seek from the booking detail or an existing jail record. They are not claimed as columns on a live list. Ask for the booking-and-release record, not a new summary. The P2C detail template confirms that a booking can carry a release date, image, arrest details, charge lines, next court date, and bond data.

Use the agency’s exact code when a disposition is unclear. “Bond” means the person left detention while the case continued. “Time served” can end custody on one matter while another hold remains. A transfer ends an Iredell booking but does not free the person. Those distinctions are central to an accurate Iredell County 24-hour release check.

Iredell Roster Release-Date Gap
Iredell P2C has an unusual split. Its public index is current Inmate Inquiry, yet its detail template includes labels for Release Date and Image. That design shows that the system can store release-related data. It does not show that a released booking stays indexed or can be browsed later. No public archive navigation or retention promise was found. An old direct detail or cached view should not outweigh a more recent answer from the Sheriff, court, VINELink, DAC, or a receiving agency.
The official Sheriff Support Units description adds a local reason for care. The prisoner transport team moves people between the Iredell County Detention Center and detention or correctional facilities across North Carolina. A disappearance can thus mark transport. The Detention Records Section also handles legal and court records connected with facility operations, which makes a narrow request the proper route when the web trail ends.
The official current screen helps show the limit. The Iredell P2C source displays a present inmate inquiry rather than release history.
The visible inquiry fields can identify the right current booking, but they do not create a verified list of everyone released during the prior day.
Request Iredell Release Records
When no online result settles the question, contact the Iredell County Detention Center information desk at 704-878-3131 or jailinfo@iredellcountync.gov. Ask where to send a written request for the existing booking-and-release record. The county request gateway is the stable online starting point. Keep a copy of the response with the request date and scope. If staff identify no responsive entry, confirm that the searched interval and spelling were correct before drawing a conclusion.
A useful request gives the full name, booking number if known, and exact start and end of the 24-hour period. Ask for the actual release or transfer date and time, release disposition or authority, and the receiving agency or destination if public. Electronic delivery can be requested. Before any charge is incurred, ask for an estimate and its legal basis. North Carolina law calls for public-record access as promptly as possible, but the research found no universal fixed number of days for this record.
Protected investigative, medical, juvenile, security, sealed, or expunged material may be withheld or redacted. A denial should identify the legal basis, and public portions can still be requested. Do not ask staff to build a custom list if none exists. Ask for the existing events and fields within the precise period.
Iredell Release App Limits
Iredell County has an official OCV Sheriff’s Office mobile app, but the county’s published feature page does not claim an inmate lookup, same-day release feed, or booking-photo archive. It lists public-safety functions such as wanted-person information, tips, a sex-offender map, and push notifications. Broad app-store wording about jail information is not enough to turn the app into the missing Iredell County 24-hour release list.
The app can remain a general official channel. Still, it should not replace P2C, VINELink, the court case, or the jail record for a release claim. An app alert may prompt a new check. Only the matched custody source and custodian can establish what changed for a particular booking.

Iredell State-Prison Releases Differ
North Carolina provides a dedicated DAC Inmate Release Search. It covers people released from a DAC prison in the current year or the two prior years. One route uses release county, year, and month. Another uses all or the start of a last name. IREDELL appears as a release-county value, but that phrase is a DAC field. It does not mean the Iredell County Sheriff released someone from the county jail.
The official state search is useful for a different question. It can find recent state-prison release records tied to a DAC release county or name. It cannot supply a Sheriff same-day feed. Read a DAC result with offender number, sentence history, actual release details, movement, and supervision status. Release from prison may begin post-release supervision, which means the person is out of prison but not fully discharged from the sentence.
The DAC release-search form makes the state scope visible.
Use it after a documented state commitment or for a state-prison release question, not as a substitute for Iredell County jail records.
